Wonderful friendships
Our mother Marjorie Nash (nee Icke) loved her time in the WAAAF. She formed great friendships and proudly attended Anzac Day marches in Melbourne until her bad health stopped her. Her friends included Dottie, Betty, Nancy, and Roma.
Part of her service was as a steward at Newman College at the University of Melbourne. Much fun was had at dances with RAAF personnel, many of whom were studying medicine and law.
She later became a nurse's aide but we are not sure if that was after she was discharged.
