Son of James and Mary Ann CARROLL
In the 312th list of Australian casualties issued last Monday appears the following names : — Private Joseph Carroll, East Cobar, died of wounds (previously reported wounded) .
His father died in 1905 and his mother was incapable of caring for him and his brother James so they were fostered by Bridget and George O'Reilly who lived in Hartman St East Cobar.
