On 25 May 1918 Gwynfred married Alice Lillian Neville in the Church of Christ, Unley, SA. Alice predeceased Qywnfred by dying in 1942

Commenced return to Australia on 8 September 1919 aboard HT Raranga disembarking on 25 October 1919
