George Alexander Poulson was born on the 27th of July 1888 in Adelaide, South Australia and enlisted into the A.I.F. on the 15th of November 1915, Adelaide, South Australia at the age of 24 and six months. George worked at as wire mattress maker, he was the son of Arthur POULSON and Elizabeth Sinclair Nee STEWART. George Alexander Poulson has received two war medals. These are as follows; The British War Medal and the Victory Medal.

During George's younger years he attended Fort Street Public School Australia. His parents were Arthur and Elizabeth POULSON and lived on 20 Bewes Street, Adelaide.

On the 15th of November 1915, George Alexander Poulson enlisted in the war. On the 27th of July his service number was 5747 in 1916 he was involved in the 10th Infantry Battalion, and embarked in the 10th Infantry Battalion, HMAT Barambah, Melbourne. On the 23rd of July, he involved himself in the 47th Infantry Battalion. 

During the war, he was killed in action in Belgium, 23 June 1917. George Alexander Poulson died at the age of twenty-nine. George's name is on the Australian War Memorial; The Australian War Memorial is the hub of the commemoration of war service in Australia in Treloar Crescent, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. His name is also on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, George's name was also mentioned in the Roll of Honour.
