Son of Robert Fish and Hannah Fish of 4 George Street, East Melbourne, Victoria. Brother of William Robert Fish who returned to Australia on 19 June 1919 having served with the 14th Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 27 August 1917 aboard SS Pakeha
In 1933 George married Gwendolin Elizabeth Thomas in Victoria
