Son of Michael and Mrs L Connelly, 81 Queen Street, Bendigo, Victoria
Mrs. L. Connelly, of Edward-street, Bendigo, has received news that her son, Private William Arthur Connelly, has been killed in action in France. Private Connelly, who was 24 years of age, and a native of Myers' Flat, was educated at St. Liborius's R.C. School, Eaglehawk. For eleven years he was employed at Stewards' Brewery, and on coming to Bendigo to reside he entered the employment of Hunter Bros. Private Connelly sailed with reinforcements on the 8th May, 1915, and saw service at Gallipoli. He was wounded at Lone Pine, but made a good reoovery. His mother, two brothers, and a sister (Mrs.. Scott, of Neilborough), survive him.
