Sergeant Arthur Ralph Kenney was posted missing, 19 July 1916, age 22. On 23 April 1917, he was ruled by the Assistant Adjutant General to be 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916' on the basis of a statement made by Private J. Gray on during March 1917. Note on B.103, 'buried in vicinity of Fleurbaix'

Statement, 3113 Pte J. Gray, B Company, 58th Bn: 'He was in charge of my platoon. I saw him killed by machine gun fire at Fromelles instantaneously. We were attacking and had just cleared the top of our trenches when he was hit. We had to retire.'

In another statement by 3734 Pte W.A. Forster, 58th Bn 'He belonged to VIII Pl. B. Co. and was killed at Fleurbaix on July 19th. Pte. F. Paine, VIII Pl. B. Co. and Sgt. Major Stubbs, B. Co. saw his body lying on the German barbed wire. I left there in a wounded condition and do not know anything as to the burial of the body.'

His brother 3353 Pte William Harold Kenney, 6th Field Ambulance, died of wounds at Gallipoli 10 October 1915, aged 21.
