THE DARLING SON OF EDWARD AND MARY CONTENCIN JACKSON OF HOBART
JACKSON.— In sad and loving memory of our dear son and brother, Sergeant Tasman Contencin Jackson, 26th Battalion, killed in action in France on the 3rd October, 1918, aged 22 years. Over three years' active service.
Sadly a mother is thinking
Of her soldier boy so brave,
Who fought for the cause of freedom,
Now lives in a hero's grave.
Never can our hearts forget
The sorrow of that day
When grief has left so deep a wound
The pain must always stay.
O, Tas, little did I think
When first I cradled thee,
That on the battlefields you would fall,
So far away from me.
Inserted by his loving mother and father,
sisters and brothers.
JACKSON.— In loving memory of my dear mate, Sergt. Tasman Jackson, 26th Batt., killed in action in France, October 3, 1918.
"Thy duty nobly done."
Inserted by his loving comrade, Corporal J. R. Goodey, late 28th Batt.
