Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Daniel Scullin was a member of the Western Australia State Football Team in 1914. He was said by a mate to be a young clean shaven, powerfully built young man, a very good footballer. It was said he went to the aid of his brother Patrick when both were struck by another shell burst. It was said that Daniel was so badly blown up that no vestige of him was left but Patrick was taken back to a Dressing Station where he soon died and was buried in a cemetery near Polygon Wood.
