Jim had a parlimentary career spanning 25 years, representing the Kempsey Macleay area as its National Party representative.
He was awarded Life Membership of the RSL in 1960 and Metorious Service Medal in 1977. Following his retirement from politics he continued to serve the people of the Macleay being on the board of the Kempsey TAFE and the local branch of the Diabeties Assoiciation.
