OH BRAVE AND GENTLE HEART WELL HAST THOU PLAYED THY PART
The Late Gnr. Frederick Dudley Boxall.
The Rector (Rev. John Parr) received the sad communication on Friday evening last that Gnr. Frederick Dudley Boxall, First Medium Trench Mortar Battery, late 1st F.A.B., was killed in action on 3/7/'18. This information was conveyed to Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Boxall, of Cowra, who will receive the deepest sympathy of a wide circle of friends. The family is one of our oldest and most respected, Dudley himself having spent his early life amongst us. He was born in Cowra some 26 years ago, and enlisted from Adelong, where he was on the staff of the Bank of N.S.W. At St. John's Church of England on Sunday last the memorial prayers were said, and the Rector made reference to the sad event. Flowers, sent by the congregation, were made up into a wreath, which was placed over the centre of the Empire flag suspended over the organ screen. A tribute was offered in the hymn, Now the labourer's task is o'er Now the battle day is past.
