Son of John and Mary ann STAIT

PRIVATE H. V. STAIT.
Mr. and Mrs. Stait of 7 Allen-street, Coburg, have received official notice that their second youngest son, No. 4200 Herbert Victor Stait, of the 24th Battalion, was killed in action on the 4th October. Private Stait had been previously wounded on 4th May and was admitted to the General Military Hospital, Chatham, England on the 7th May, and discharged from same on the 13th June. He returned to duty in France after a short rest, Private Stait enlisted on the 13th December, 1915, and sailed for France on the transport Wiltshire in March, 1916. Before enlisting, he was employed for 71/2 years by Mr. M. O'Keeffe, North Melbourne. R.I.P.
