Eric Quigley was a 19 year old farmer living on the family farm in Coragulac.
He served in the CMF from 02 Mar 1942 to 26 Apr 1943, and then joined the AIF and became a member of 2/2nd Infantry Battalion. 1943 and 1944 were spent training in northern Queensland, and the 2/2nd's last campaign of the war was the drive to clear the Japanese from the Aitape-Wewak region of New Guinea between December 1944 and August 1945.
