    Commenced rerturn to Australia 21 December 1917 aboard HT Persic disembarking on 12 February 1918 at Melbourne then transhipped aboard HT Orontes to Sydney then overland to Brisbane

    On 24 April 1924 Hugh married Jane Teresa Haslam in QLD
