Son of Robert Brace and Elizabeth Brace nee Pattison of Kerrisdale, Victoria. Robert enlisted in 1915 aged 51 years and returned to Australia on 29th April 1916 having served with the 1st Australian Remount Unit

Brother of Sarah Brace, Robert Brace who returned to Australia on 21 January 1916 having served with the 23rd Battalion and Mary Ann Jane Brace
