Son of James Vallence and Margaret Vallence nee McGrath of Bacchus Marsh, Victoria. Brother of Packington Joseph Vallence who served in the Boer War, WW1 and WW2.
Commenced return to Australia on 20 November 1918 aboard HT Suevic disembarking on 5 Janaury 1919.

Commenced return to Australia from Special Service Unit on 22 Jauary 1920 aboard HT Friedichsruh disembarking on 12 March 1920 at Sydney for discharge.
