Beautiful, but hard man.
My Grandfather, the father of my beautiful father.
He was one of the most courageous, stoic, loving, yet nuanced people that I’ve ever met. A person that you could be around and know that you were loved, but a very hard man at the same time
I truly didn’t even get to know him for a long time, however the tarnish that war left on him was ever present, yet the beautiful soul that he was always shone through.
The pride that I feel being related to one of the completely unselfish and brave individuals that endured what they did will live through me forever.
I’m so proud to be the grandson of one of our nations heroes, however seemingly personal or individual the sacrifice.
Lest we forget. X
