Albert was born in Russell River, Cairns on 13 Jun 1896, son of Carl Friedrich Ferdinand Roesler and Marianne Pix.  He enlisted 5 Apr 1915 and embarked from Brisbane 24 May 1915 on HMAT A11 “Ascanius” for Egypt and Gallipoli.  Private Roesler served with the 7th Field Ambulance on Gallipoli and on the Western Front. He returned to Australia 2 Mar 1919. He married Margaret Annie Miers on 12 Jul 1921.  Albert was a clerk in the railways. He died 1980.
