OBITUARY
C. E. MARCHANT
Between 3.45 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, the death occurred suddenly of Mr. Charles Edmund Marchant, aged 31, son of the late Mr. G. Marchant and  Mrs. Marchant, of Gilgandra. The deceased, who was a returned soldier, with 12 months' war service to his credit in Egypt, had suffered lately from  heart trouble, and on several occasions recently sustained seizures that necessitated medical attention. On Saturday afternoon, his wife, on returning  from town, found her husband lying on the bed, and approaching, discovered that, during her absence, he had passed away, the cause of death being heart failure. Besides the widow, deceased leaves behind a family of three young children. The remains were laid to rest in the church of England  cemetery on Sunday last, the last prayers being read by Rev. Mr. Jarman. Mr. A. H. Ross had charge of the funeral arrangements.
