Son of Arthur James O'Rourk and Elizabeth O'Rourke nee McSweeney of Lebrina, Tasmania

At the time of enlistment he was residing in Karoola, Tasmania

Brother of Terrance George O'Rourke who returned to Australia on 16 June 1919 having served with the 12th Battalion.

Next of kin given as his eldest brother Arthur John O'Rourke of The Avenue, Spotswood, Victoria
