Leith Hunt was single and jsut over 18 years old when he enlisted in Adelaide. He stood 5'7" (170cm) tall, weighed 125lbs (57kg) and had grey eyes, light brown hair and a fresh complexion. Leith left Australia on 01 May 1918 and landed in France on 07 November 1918 just before the 11 November. 

After marrying Bonnie Kate Seigmann in 1926, Leith lived in Birkenhead where he also died aged 71. His wife Bonnie died on 6 September 1992 aged 86.
