Son of John Orange and Margaret Orange nee Gilbertson of Shields, England.

Previously had served in the R.A.N. for nine years being discharged on 1 November 1911.

Husband of Catherine Louisa Orange nee Caldwell of Collingwood Road, Newport, Victoria. Arthur and Catherine married during 1903c in Victoria. Catherine died during 1918c.

Commenced return to Australia on 23 September 1918 aboard HT Runic disembarking on 26 November 1918
