Ivor Elmore SANDERSON was born in Pine Valley, Broken Dam (near Temora) NSW in 1891
His parents were Thomas SANDERSON and Isabella Rebecca BARNES
He enlisted on 4th July 1916 with the 3rd battalion
Unit embarked from Sydney on HMAT Ceramic on 7th October 1916
Ivor was killed in action on 9th April, 1917 in France
He is buried in Beaumetz Cross Roads Cemetery in France
Ivors brother 6565 Pte. Joseph John SANDERSON also of the 3rd battalion was also killed in France 23rd August, 1918
The brothers had embarked together on the HMAT Ceramic on 7th October 1916 & served together in France.
Another brother Arthur served in 5th Field Artillery & returned to Australia in 1919 . A cousin Thomas Robert Harrison (2nd battalion) who embarked with the brothers was also killed in action in Hermies in France
