Private Keith Henry Hatherell (Service Nos:V26395/VX124052) initially served in the ACMF (5 August 1941 - 22 February 1942) - graded Butcher, attached to 21 Australian Supply Depot Coy AASC. Private Hatherell then served in the AIF (23 February 1943 - 7 December 1945) - graded Butcher, attached to 3 Australian Base Supply Depot.

Keith was born in Hamilton, Victoria in 1921, second of four children of John Henry Hatherell (b1891 in Hamilton, Victoria) and Harriet Susan Rundell (b1892 in Condah, Victoria). John (a Fishmonger) and Harriet married in 1917, and settled in Hamilton where they raised their family and John was a Fishmonger and Butcher.

Keith was working in Hamilton as a Butcher and Slaughterman when he enlisted in the Army in 1941, and in 1945 married Gladys Elma Scott (b1922 in Adelaide, South Australia) - Gladys, a Salewman before enlisting in the Army 1942, was a Corporal in the AWAS (Service No:VF397003). Keith and Gladys settled in Hamilton, where they raised their family and Keith was a Butcher. Gladys died in 2002 and Keith in 2004.
