Son of James Vickers and Elsie Vickers nee Writ of Strathallan, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia 13 February 1917 aboard HT Ulysses disembarking on 12 April 1917

In 1924 Walter was working on Burra Burra Station, Tullamore, NSW. In 1935 he had moved to the Echuca area for employment.
