LANCE-CORPORAL LEES.
Lance-corporal David Lees (killed) was the youngest son of the late Mr. William Lees, of Bois Cherg, near Goulburn, and was well known in Goulburn. He enlisted at Perth, W.A., and was serving in the 11th Battalion of the First Contingent. He was employed in the Western Australian Mines Department. Lance-corporal Lees served in the South African war as a member of the Bushmen's Contingent, and participated in the siege of Eland's River.
