Son of Jack Veigel and stepson of Mary Veigel of Bulli, NSW.

There was a suggestion that he had also served as Arthur Frew but i was never confirmed and he was discharged after a few months 

Commenced return to Australia on 8 August 1916 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on 24 September 1916
