Sydney George Weatherspoon was born on 3rd September 1890, in Two Wells South Australia. He attended school at the Two Wells Primary School and worked as a Labourer before enlistment.

Sydney George Weatherspoon enlisted 24th October 1916 when he was 26 years old. Physically, Sydney was 5 feet and 4 1/2 inches and weighed 130 pounds (58 kg). He had blue eyes and brown hair. 

On 16th December 1916, Sydney embarked from Australia for an overseas service. He arrived in England and marched into 2nd Training Battalion, where he remained for serveal months. He proceeded to France in November 1917 to serve on the Western Front. Sydney George Weatherspoon on 25th March 1919 after 2 years and 144 days of service abroad. He was dischared 9th October 1919.

Sydney George Weatherspoon passed away on September 1st 1966, two days before his 76th birthday.
