Son of John Oram and Esther Oram nee Kidger of Loughbrough, England.
Wheelwright apprenticeship of six years was served with Moss & Sons Ltd., England. He has also served with the 5th Leicestershire Territorials for five years.
Address at the time of enlistment was given as C/- A R Clarke, Emerald, QLD
Next of kin given as his brother George Oram of the same address. George returned to Australia on 22 September 1919 having served with the 4th Pioneer Battalion.
Commenced return to Austrlaia on 22 September 1919 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 12 November 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
