Son of Edwin John and Eleanor Engley of 226 Hainult Road, Leytonstone, London, England formerly of Manor Road, Brockley, England.
Brother of Edwin Albert Engley who died of wounds on 5 July 1918 while serving with the 26th Battalion. Edwin is buried in the Terlincthun British Cemetery, Plot 1, Row D, Grave 32
