Son of Robert Hyles ATKINSON and Mary Adelaide ATKINSON nee KNIPPE
There passed away at the residence of his mother, in Chapman-street, on Tuesday last, Charles Onslow Atkinson, at the age of 43 years. The deceased was born at Avondale and came to Proserpine with his parents about 1908, who then took up sugar growing at Strathdichie. When the war broke out, Charlie enlisted and served 4 1/2 years with the A.I.F. abroad. Returning to Proserpine, he worked here one crushing season, then departed for the west where he followed stock work. Two and a half years ago he bad the misfortune to have a horse fall on him from which accident be was unable to recover. The funeral moved from the residence of his mother on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W. Porter Young officiated at the graveside.
