Private Lloyd Allan Rees (Service Nos:VX130232/V225327) initially served in the ACMF (2 March 1942 to 17 November 1942) and was 'in the field' at Emerald Hills NSW when he enlisted in the AIF on 18 November 1942. Private Rees was attached to 127 Australian General Transport (AGT) Coy at Discharge on 8 March 1946. His wife - Aircraftwoman Ethel Margaret Rees (Service No:96381) - served in the RAAF.

Lloyd was born in Hamilton, Victoria in 1920, son of Phillip Rees (b1893 at Telangutuk via Balmoral, Victoria) and his first wife Louisa Mary McPherson (b1898 in Aubrey, Victoria). Phillip was a Farmer at Telangutuk in 1919 when he and Louisa married in Brim. They settled at Telangutuk where Phillip was a Farmer and, following Louisa's death in 1930, Phillip remarried in 1934 and he and Agnes settled at Gatum via Hamilton where Phillip was a Farmer.

Lloyd worked as a Farm Labourer in Gatum via Hamilton before enlisting in the Army. In 1942 in Hamilton, Victoria he married Ethel Margaret Wensley (b1923 in Hamilton, Victoria) - Ethel was an Aircraftwoman in the RAAF. Following their Discharges, Lloyd and Ethel lived at Minhamite via Penhurst before settling in Warrnambool - Lloyd worked as a Farm Labourer and Labourer. Lloy and Ethel both died in 1985 - Lloyd in August and Ethel in September.
