Also known as Richard Clive Manders.
Desmond had enlisted previously in November 1915 but was discharged on 6 March 1916 as not being likely to make a good soldier. He later re-enlisted using the alias of Richard Clive Manders giving his place of birth as Oxford, England and falsifying his next of kin.
Son of Capt. Gerald Viilers-Stuart and Maud Hutcheson Villiers-Stuart of Richmond, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford, Ireland.
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
