Private Earl Winston Lamb (Service No:VX98185) initially served with the ACMF (Private; Service No:V235594) - 10th Training Battalion and 46th Infantry Battalion from 27 February 1942 to 13 June 1942 - he was Discharged for having given a false DoB on his Attestation (he was only just past his 15th birthday when he enlisted). Private Lamb re-enlisted in the AIF on 15 July 1945 with 16 Infantry Training Battalion and served with 67th Infantry Battalion BCOF in Japan (9 April 1946 - 17 November 1947). Private Lamb was Discharged on 26 November 1947.

Earl was born in Burrumbeet, Victoria in 1927, second of three children of Walter Hamilton Lamb (b1878 in Fyansford, Victoria) and Clarice Tomkins (b1904 in Beaufort, Victoria). Walter (a Farmer) served in WWI (Private; Service No:8230) and he and Clarice married in Balalrat in 1925. They settled in Burrumbeet where they raised theirf amily and Walter was a Farmer until his death in 1931. Clarice remarried in 1933 to Alfred John Lugg.

Earl worked as a Farm Hand in Ballarat, and following his Discharge was a Silver Polisher. In 1953 in Ballarat he married Audrey Hazel Vowles (b1929 in Beaufort, Victoria and the couple settled in Ballarat where they raised their family and Earl worked as a Spinner and Farm Labourer. By the late 1960's Earl was a Husbandry Officer in Ballan. Earl died in 2007 and Audre in 2020.
