Percy George Thomas was the elsdest child of Robert Tabor Thomas (born in St Michael's, Gloucestershire UK) and Winifred Elvira Malone (daughter of a Britsh Army Officer born at sea in the Bay of Biscay). Percy grew up in Glocestershire and emigrated to Brisbane, QLD Australia where he worked initially as a Labourer. 

Younger brother Robert Tabor Thomas had also emigrated to Brisbane QLD and in 1899 was serving with the 1st QLD Mounted Infantry in the Boer War in South Africa.

Percy married Emily Topham in 1902 in Brisbane, QLD and worked there as a Clerk until 1917 when he enlisted with the AIF as a Private (Service No: 1152). Percy served with Rabaul Relief Corps, Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force until his Discharge in 1919

Percy and Emily lived and raised their family in Brisbane, QLD during the 1920s and mid 1930s - in Census information during this period, Percy gives his occupation as Warrant Offcer.

The family moved to Townsville, QLD in the late 1930s, where Percy worked as a Clerk. Returning to Brisbane, QLD Percy worked as a Salesman until his death in Brisbane in 1953
