Died of wounds on 10 June, Lieut. John Cecil Drury REID, BF, loved son of the late Rev. J. Bentley Reid and Mris Sybil Reid, beloved husband of Jessie Beatrice (nee Philip) Reid of Branxholme, and loving father of Stanley, Joan and Peggy.

Mr John Cecil Drury Reid, civil engineer, till now with the Commonwealth staff at Canberra as surveyor, enlisted as a sapper in the Engineers yesterday.   He matriculated from Scotch College in 1893.  His brother, the late Rev. Stanley S. Reid, obtained leave of absence from boulder Presbyterian Church (West Australia) and went as a private to the South African war, soon after to be promoted to lieutenant; he was wounded and after a brief interval returned, and was fatally wounded.   Dr. Frank B Reid, of Sydney Road, Coburg also served as captain in the South African war.  A younger brother, William B Reid holds a commission in the Field Artillery, British Imperial Forces.
