Private David James Quinlan B was born in 1873 in Newcastle, NSW. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 18th July, 1916 stating he was a 38 year old widower Labourer. He arrived at Devonport, England on 10th January, 1917 & was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire on 28th January, 1917 with Influenza. He was reported seriously ill with Pneumonia on 30th January, 1917.
Private David James Quinlan died at 6.15 a.m. on 3rd February, 1917 from Pneumonia.
He, along with two other AIF men, was buried in Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire where there are a total of 141 Australian WW1 Soldiers buried - Jenkins buried 7th' McPhee buried 8th (see photo below) & Quinlan buried 6th.
