Son of Arthur BEALES and Elizabeth nee KENDALL, 18 Nicholas Street, Chilwell, Victoria

After arriving in Aexandria Egypt, Arthur proceeded to Marseilles, France where he was wounded in action in the field 3 July 1916 in France and admitted to 13th Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, France.

Transferred to England, he was admitted to Military Hospital Carrington 8 July 1916 then onto Bagthorpe Militiary Hospital (Dartford, England) with GSW to face, thigh and right arm 12 October 1916.  In January 1917 he was transferred to the 3rd Auxillary Hospital and discharged from there on 21 February 1917.  He then marched into No 2 Com. Depot Weymouth from Dartford.

Embarked 04 May 1917 per H.T. Themistocles from Devonport England for Australia for change.

Discharged form AIF 23 January 1918
