Son of William Herbert Fagg of Lindisfarne, Tasmania. Brother of Herbert William Fagg who returned to Australia on 5 November 1917 having served with the 40th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 7 September 1915 aboard HT Ascanius from Malta
