His war service was in France and it appears other than being admitted to hospital on arrival in England he was uninjured throughout the war.
Robert returned to Australia 28 June 1919 aboard 'Zealandia' and was dischargd 22 August 1919
When making application for war medals in 1929 his address is given as 11 Marshall Street, Chilwell, Victoria.
