"PRIVATE H. A. GOTTLIEB.
Nurse N. Miller, of 5, Park-terrace, Gilberton has received from Private H. A. Gottlieb, of Gilberton, a card sent to him by Major-General Cox, for bravery under heavy fire on August 29 and 30. This is the second occasion that Private Gottlieb has been commended for his bravery in the field. Private Gottlieb went from France to London on October 5, 1916, for ten days' leave and received the Military Medal. He was twice mentioned in dispatch for scouting and dispatch running." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 06 Jan 1917 (nla.gov.au)
