Military Career

Cecil Thomas Digby boarded the HMAT Hororata on the 23rd of November 1916 with the 24th Battalion. He Remained in the 24th Battalion until his discharge in 1919.

Cecil Digby

Cecil Thomas Digby was born in Geelong around 1889, his mother died when he was young, his father was David Edward DIGBY a carpenter who moved to SA. His grandfather David DIGBY was a police constable who drowned off Anglesea in 1881.

Cecil Digby worked at the Chetham Saltworks both before and after the war. He lived at 12 Park Street East Geelong with his auntie Louise BROCKWELL. His cousin Frederick BROCKWELL served in the 6th battalion AIF.

Cecil never married and died in 1942 and was buried at Springvale cemetery.
