Jack was the eldest of three children of George Shadrack Wall (b1889 in Violet Town, Gowangardie, Victoria) and Nicholes Brown (b1892 in Violet Town, Gowangardie, Victoria). George (a Farmer) and Nicholes married in 1916 in Violet Town where they settled and raised their family.

Jack was a Farmer in Gowangardie, Victoria in 1939 when he enlisted in the ACMF (Trooper; Service No:V24620) with 20 Light Horse Regiment - later the 20 Australian Motor Regiment. Jack was Discharged in January 1942.

In 1941 Jack married Constance (Connie) Mary Jeffery (b1910 in Shepparton, Victoria) at Pine Lodge in Shepparton, Victora). The couple settled in Gowangardie where Jack was a Farmer. In the late 1960s they were in Caniambo, where Jack died in 1989. Connie died in 2001.
