Percy died of wounds, around one hundred years ago. He was 25 years old. Percy is buried in the Grevillers British Cemetery, France. He suffered a gunshot wound to his head on 22nd April 1917 and died three days later.
The family were originally from Drouin in Victoria, arriving in the Strathbogie area in the mid 1890s.
Euroa Advertiser May 18th 1917.
“For King and Country. - Word was received from the Defence Department on Saturday, we regret to report, that Private Percy Hutchinson, of Strathbogie North, had died of wounds in France. Private Hutchinson was for some time assistant in the Shire Office, Violet Town. His brother, Harold, recently left for the war.”
His mum Lizamin, died in 1910 and is buried in the Strathbogie Cemetery.
