George along with his Brother Edwin (Service Number 2389) are listed on the Logan Village Nominal Roll for the ANZACS. Both these boys died in their service to the Country. George along with Edwin have a memorial at the Foxwell Cemetery Coomera.
Their parents were John and Mary Elizabeth Harding.
This family were among the Tamborine Pioneer Families.

Biography

"...2388 Private George Beattie, 47th Battalion, of Coomera, Qld. A farmer prior enlistment, he embarked from Brisbane with the 5th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Seang Choon on 19 September 1916. Pte Beattie was killed in action on 28 March 1918, aged 29. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
