The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to page 271, plus page 302 for the index of the numerous mentions of this soldier. Prior to the war he was a bushman of Melbourne Vic. He enlisted 21st Sept 1915 aged 23 years. He had seen service with the Light Horse, but the records of 1918 indicate that he was serving with the 5th Infantry Battalion. He rose through the ranks and had been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. During his service he was awarded the Military Cross twice (MC & Bar). He survived the war, departing the UK for home 16th Mar 1919.
