"Killed in Action.
Another brave young soldier who went from Manilla has been killed in action — Private E Travis. He braved the task of braves and died in a cause, which must stir those whom he and others have died to save, to a sense of duty and sacrifice. Before enlisting, Private Travis wor- ked at Mr Donnelly's farm." - from the Manilla Express 08 Sep 1917 (nla.gov.au)
