Biography

"...4553 Private William John Finlay Larwood, 32nd Battalion. A farmer from Boolcunda East, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 16 December 1916 aboard HMAT Berrima (A35) for Devonport, England. After training in England with the 8th Training Battalion he proceeded to France and joined his battalion on the Western Front near Racquinghem in early August 1917. Pte Larwood was killed in action at Polygon Wood, Belgium, on 30 September 1917. He was aged 22 years." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
