At the time of enlistment he was residing in Quirindi, NSW

Next of kin given as his brother Walter James Hookey of Bay Street, Port Melbourne, Victoria. Walter returned to Australia on 22 April 1919 having served with the 8th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 19 February 1919 aboard HT Orca disembarking on 31 March 1919
