Son of Michael and Henrietta Mahony of Aarmidale, NSW. Brother of Bernard Mahony who was killed in action on 7 August 1917 while serving with the 13th Field Artillery Brigade and is buried in the Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery. Plot V111, Row D, Grave 5
